About
If you're on the hunt for an authentic ramen experience in the heart of Poughkeepsie, look no further than Ichiddo Ramen. Nestled at 34 Winslow Gate Rd, this restaurant has quickly captured the hearts (and appetites) of locals and visitors alike since opening its doors just a couple of months ago. With a cozy vibe and a commitment to cleanliness, Ichiddo Ramen offers a welcoming atmosphere where enthusiasts of Japanese cuisine can indulge in their favorite dishes.
The highlight of Ichiddo Ramen lies in its authentic broth, resonating with reviewers who praise its rich flavor and depth. Each bowl is a canvas, bringing together expertly crafted noodles and a variety of toppings that elevate the experience beyond the instant noodle packs many are accustomed to. Customer reviews consistently mention the fantastic flavors, with options like the Char Siu Ramen and Tan Tan Ramen catching the attention of diners. While some dishes may benefit from a little extra broth, the overall flavor profiles are definitely a hit.
For those with specific dietary preferences, Ichiddo Ramen shines with its variety of vegetarian options. Reviewer Samantha Del Rey cherished the vegetable udon and tofu, showing that the menu caters to diverse tastes and dietary needs. The restaurant’s attention to detail in preparing each dish makes it stand out; as one diner remarked, the vegetables in the beef stir fry ramen were skillfully left crisp, adding a delightful crunch to the dish.
The friendly service at Ichiddo Ramen is repeatedly highlighted, with staff members like Michelle ensuring a warm and welcoming dining experience. Whether you're new to ramen or a seasoned pro, the team is there to help guide your choices and enhance your meal. The ambiance mirrors the attentiveness of the service, making it an excellent spot for a sit-down meal with friends or family.
In addition to their robust ramen offerings, don’t miss out on the tantalizing appetizers, like the Char Siu Pork Bun. Desserts such as the steamed sponge cake make for a perfect sweet ending to your meal, tempting diners with its balance of flavor without being overly sweet.
Ultimately, Ichiddo Ramen isn’t just a place to grab a quick bite; it’s a destination. With its authentic flavors, diverse menu, and inviting atmosphere, it has earned its place among Poughkeepsie's culinary gems. So whether you're dropping by after a visit to the children's Discovery Museum or just in the mood for an unforgettable bowl of ramen, Ichiddo Ramen is sure to impress.
“ Okay this was my first time here and came with my son. The decor in this place is beautiful. I should have taken pictures of the food but it was so good that we forgot to take any. The service was great as well. We had the Goyza, springs rolls and two soups. Everything was super delicious! Highly recommend this place. Kinda sad that all this time we never stopped in. We been missing out for sure! If your looking for a great ramen place look no further! ”
“ Great place to sit down and have your favorite Ramen. The Ramen broth is authentic and delicious. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Michelle. She was very polite and helpful with my questions regarding the menu. Ichiddo Ramen is very clean and spotless. I would definitely recommend this awesome restaurant. ”
“ I had the Char Sui Ramen and the person I was with had the Tan Tan Ramen. Char Sui Ramen was very good and could have had more broth included. Otherwise, the flavor and sides are very tasty. The Tan Tan Ramen was a bit salty and could have had more broth included as well. This placed been opened for 2 months and I expect it to get better. Would recommend to anyone who likes ramen and other Japanese dishes served here. ”
“ Stopped here on Sat around 7pm… not busy. Service was good and food was fresh and tasty! I had the Char Siu Pork Bun appetizer and Beef Stir Fry Ramen paired with a Sapporo beer. The vegetables are not cooked very much, so they are still crispy. ”
“ Ramen was decent for what you can find in the area. It was a little on the bland side and the halved soft-boiled egg was not marinated long enough. Kimchi also had a very sweet flavor which was unusual. The sakura rose milk tea and takoyaki were really good. The decor and atmosphere inside was nice. I will be back to try the other ramen flavors. ”
“ I really enjoy a great bowl of authentic Ramen because it’s absolutely nothing like that pack of oodles of noodles I grew up on in the Bronx. From the broth, to the noodles to the toppings, it’s a totally different experience and I am glad I had the wherewithal to google this place after I visited the children’s Discovery Museum in Poughkeepsie. Literally a 6 minute drive from the museum to the restaurant parking lot. I am vegetarian and they definitely had options to suit my preferences. But I definitely reverted to my old ways and had a relapse, I ordered my ramen with pork broth (don’t tell my husband lol) and my goodness the depth of flavor was incredible. Like I could literally bathe in that broth and it satiated my lower self desires so I will be staying true to the vegetable based broth next time. The toppings worked perfectly. I loved the broth so much I ordered more noodles to finish it, lol. The Strawberry Lychee Tea was a little bit on the sweet side, but it was delicious. The fried rice was decent but not better than the ramen. I could do without the corn in the rice. I will visit again to try the apps and other menu items. I enjoyed my 1st time. ”
